I want to find out how to build a vortex cannon.

Method:
Equipment:
- Plastic cup
- Balloon
- Tape
- Scissors
- Matches
Instructions:
- Get your equipment ready.
- Trace a small circle on the bottom of the cup.
- Cut the hole out with scissors.
- Cut the balloon across the widest part.
- Stretch the balloon over the mouth of the cup.
- Tape the edge of the balloon to the cup.
- Light a match and blow it out, then put some of the smoke into the cup.
- Then FIRE!

What is the science behind a smoke ring?:
Bernoulli’s principle states that an air flow’s pressure decreases as it moves quicker. The force holding the smoke ring together is caused by the inward pressure created when the air inside the vortex moves faster than the air outside does.
What is a vortex?:
A whirling mass of fluid or air, especially a whirlpool or whirlwind.
What can you do with a vortex cannon?:
You can make your own.
