Taniwha’s Diary

Hello, amazing people today I have been working on a diary entry on “taniwha and the rakaia gorge”  with my friend. we have not done them on the same doc but we tried our very best to connect them. I am doing Taniwha’s Diary and my friend has done Te Maru’s Diary.

This is mine:

Dear diary, on this very day I got bullied by Te Maru and did nothing about it. I didn’t even tell my parents. When Te Maru blew rubbish in the water I didn’t try to stop him. All I did was yell “Stop! Stop!” but Te Maru didn’t listen, typical Te Maru! I tried building a sturdy dam and he just laughed at me and said “as if that can stop me”. Then I went to the hot pools to escape my enemy Te Maru. When I got back there was a massive hole in the dam and Te Maru was hovering over the giant hole innocently.

This is my friends:

Dear diary, today I bullied the taniwha. Basically, he keeps the water clean for all the other animals. So I blew lots of rubbish into the river, I blew cans and plastic bags, all the taniwha did was yell “Stop! Stop!” but why would I listen to him, exactly how I treat humans. Then the taniwha built a dam, as if that could stop me. He went to the hot pools in the mountains. I took that advantage and blew an immense hole in the dam, then blew more rubbish in. I hovered over the dam innocently and laughed hard. It was a very fun day today.

Mandala structure

Have you ever tried to make a mandala but it was just too hard? Well, I’m here to help you by giving you easy step by step instructions. Prepare to make the most awesome mandala in the world!!

A mandala is a sophisticated form of art and can be made from colored chalk or sand, you could also use a normal piece of paper and pencils.

Today we will make a mandala with paper and pencils.

Equipment:

  • A3 paper
  • colored pencils and normal pencil
  • Ruler

Method:

  1. Take your A3 sheet of paper and take the top corner and fold it, unfold and fold the                   bottom corner. You should have a cross on your paper. Mark the middle of your cross with your pencil.
  2. Use the folded lines to make tiny marks.Use your rule to to measure 1 cm then do another centimetre, from 2 cm to 4 cm to 6 cm. If you want to do it in millimetres  then add a zero to each number. Do this to each fold line from the middle.
  3. Lightly use your pencil and ruler to draw a simple plus sign, connect this with curved strokes of your normal pencil. It should look like the template to the right.
  4. Use your colored pencils to create symmetrical designs and patterns in the circle. Color the designs in and brag to your friends.I tried to make one myself my theme was meant to be space I you look closely you might be able to see what I have done.
